- Cake mix & Frosting
- Muffin or Cornbread mix
Our mission "spotlight" shines on the Long Beach Rescue Mission. Their tag line reads "Helping the Homeless--Changing Lives". It operates on Pacific Avenue in Long Beach, and they've sent us the following letter:
Paul writes to the Galatians, "Let us not grow weary in doing good, for we will reap a harvest if we do not give up".
Because of your support, Long Beach Rescue Mission reaped the benefits and blessings of your recent $468.00 gift in our Summer Challenge. We can't thank you enough.
Your response to this challenge was a miracle for us, and helps us respond to our daily challenge--feeding, sheltering, and helping people who are tired, empty, or in the grip of addiction ecounter God's love. Because you gave so generously, we have more to give during our lean summer months.
Thank you for your entusiasm in meeting this challenge head-on--it's contagious! I'm so excited to see God's love in motion at our Mission through your gift.
Serving with you, Rev. Jim Lewis- President/CEO
Local Service
Some of our local assistance goes to the Long Beach Police Athletic League. We assist the Bethune Transitional Center to help families living at local shelters and their children’s needs for attending school. DeMille Middle School receives assistance from us for families with special needs. Our Ray Fletcher Outreach gives an overwhelming amount of assistance to people all over Long Beach, Compton and Los Angeles. We support a monthly Incentive Award program that rewards a student’s success in academics, attendance and behavior with a new bike. Annually, we give Thanksgiving baskets and at Christmas we use the Adopt-a-Family program to bless families with special Christmas gifts.
World Service
We assist with emergency and disasters such as the Katrina Hurricane, the Midwest tornado victims, and Southern California fire victims. Organizations we assist out of our country are the PanAmerican Institute, a training school, and the Comunidad para Baja California which helps native families with many forms of assistance.
